JAMMU, Feb 23: Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Vikram Randhawa today met with the members of the Shopkeepers Association at Narwal Bala and listened to their issues.
Randhawa was accompanied by Executive Engineer, Public Works Department (PWD) KK Atri.
While speaking, the shopkeepers apprised the visiting leaders about the issues being faced by them due to non-availability of roadside drains and footpaths.
The shopkeepers said that due to non-availability of drains and footpaths, they are facing immense problems.
“We face manifold problems due to non-availability of drains and footpaths”, they said, adding “Due to non-availability of footpaths, the people have been forced to walk on road, which sometimes create problems for us”.
The shopkeepers said that due to non-availability of drains, the rain water enters their establishments and damages their goods.
Randhawa and Atri after listening the issues raised by the shopkeepers assured redressal.
Atri, while speaking said that construction work of drains and footpaths will be taken up very soon.
Vikram Randhawa said that BJP always works for the betterment of the people.
He assured the shopkeepers that all their genuine demands will be redressed in phased manner.
“No stone will be left unturned to get the legitimate and just demands of the shopkeepers at Narwal Bala”, former Legislator added.
The members of the Shopkeepers Association, Narwal Bala and other shopkeepers present on the occasion were Tarun Sharma, president, Nitish Sharma general secretary, Sham Lal , Vimal Raj, Ravi Kant, Amit Sharma, Amit Sharma, Mohinder Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Sandeep Kotwal, Ajay Sharma, Sanjay Pargal, Vikas Manhas, etc.
