JAMMU, Dec 24: Senior BJP leader and former MLC, Vikram Randhawa here today started the blacktopping work of Sunjwan-Chatha road at Chatha Panchayat. This road is being constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana at an estimated cost of Rs. 2 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that with blacktopping of the road, people of the area will get respite from the problems being faced by them since long.
He asked the locals to identify developmental needs of their areas so that the works can be enlisted for execution by the concerned departments on priority.
The BJP leader stressed upon the locals to avail benefits of various welfare schemes and programmes launched by the Government.
He further said that several projects are underway to provide all basic amenities including better connectivity, safe drinking water and better sanitation to the people.
Randhawa exhorted upon the concerned departments for proper utilization of resources and strict adherence to quality norms in execution of developmental works.
Talib Hussain, Panch; Raman Sharma, Farman Ali, Anwar Hussain, Gulshan Sharma, Nazir Ahmed, Lateef, Majeed Chowdhary, G.D Malik and others were also present on the occasion.
