JAMMU, Mar 6: Senior BJP leader and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor of Ward 69, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa here today started drain work at Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha in Sainik Colony.
Earlier the Gurudwara Committee had met the Councillor and had demanded construction of a drain behind the Gurudwara.
A handout stated that waste water from the Gurudwara during Gurpurabs in Sainik Colony flowed on the road due to non-existent drains.
Gurmeet Randhawa said that JMC had accepted the proposal for drain and released funds.
She assured Ward residents that works for improvement of the Colony are taken up with various departments and there is drastic improvement in the number of works sanctioned and the pace and quality of work executed.
Randhawa also said that the works of drains, roads, beautification of parks, tiling, culvert etc have been executed in the Ward evenly in all the sectors showing the changing face of India under PM Modi.
S. Joginder Singh, a resident of the Ward highlighted the problem of scarcity of water in Sainik Colony. Others present on the occasion were Prakash Kour, Hemneet Kour, Babledeep Kour, Mohinder Singh, Kulbir Kour, Manmeet Singh, Capt. Sudeshan, Joginder Dutta, Paramjit Singh, Narinder Singh and Harbhajan Singh.
