JAMMU, Dec 15: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today conducted an extensive tour of Shanti Nagar area in Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment and took stock of the problems being faced by the local residents.
Randhawa conducted an extensive tour of the entire locality and took stock of the problems being faced by the people.
While addressing the gathering after taking stock of the problems, he said the lanes and drains of the locality are in shambles. He expressed his anguish that the Congress leader who represented the area for two consecutive terms had ignored it completely for vote bank politics. He said that there is nothing like development in the area and the road approaching National Highway was constructed way back in 2001 and since then no maintenance was done. This road is now in dilapidated condition and needs immediate repair.
Randhawa assured the people that Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to carryout all round development of every nook and corner irrespective of caste, colour and creed. He said that people of the locality need not to worry for the development of the area as it is now his responsibility.
Randhawa on the spot announced release of Rs five lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the construction of an entry gate of the locality and said that other works would too be carried out priority wise in phased manner.
