Randhir appeals Guv to withdraw pay, perks of ex-CMs

JAMMU, Oct 5: Veteran leader and former Minister, Thakur Randhir Singh has appealed the Governor to withdraw pay and perks of ex-Chief Ministers of J&K.
Singh, while welcoming the bold decision of Governor S P Malik to implement Panchayati Raj Act using legislative powers, appealed him to utilize similar legislature powers for withdrawing perks of ex-Chief Ministers– Dr Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Gulam Nabi Azad and Mehbooba Mufti. The former Minister said there is no such law in the entire country so it should be withdrawn immediately. Singh also appealed the Governor to reduce the Assembly term from six years to five years.
He also appealed the Governor to introduce stringent action against the politicians, bureaucrats, contractors and land mafia who have polluted the political atmosphere of the J&K and favouring their relation in managing the jobs, contracts and sending their children for MBBS, Engineering ignoring the merit of common man.
