Randhir demands special relief package for cloudburst victims

JAMMU, July 21: Veteran leader of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and former Minister, Thakur Randhir Singh, today demanded the Government to release a special package for relief and rehabilitation of the people who suffered losses due to cloud burst at Thathri in Doda district.
Condoling the death of eight persons in cloud burst, Thakur Randhir Singh, while addressing a meeting of NCP here today, said that many residential houses, shops and schools were damaged due to flash flood caused by the cloud burst.
He said people need financial help, as their houses have been damaged, lands eroded, vehicles washed away and many people also got injured in this tragedy.
Singh asked the Government to release a special package for relief and rehabilitation of the victims of cloud burst under natural calamity, which is much higher than the casual relief. He also appealed the district administration to distribute uniform and books to the students of the cloud burst affected areas.
