JAMMU, May 4: Sardar Rangil Singh, former Minister and spokesperson PDP called on the Chief Secretary for the promotion of Punjabi language and its importance.
In the meeting, Rangil Singh impressed upon the inclusion of Punjabi in the GAD Order No. 577 of 2013 dated April 5, 2013 and its promotion in the Committee formulated by Chairman Legislative Council under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary.
The Chief Secretary assured that Punjabi language will also be included in the agenda formulated for promotion of regional languages.
During the meeting, Rangil Singh in his capacity as president of J&K Olympics Association discussed and highlighted the constraints which various sports bodies are confronting in view of drafting of new Sports Policy, including the allocation of funds to various Associations. The Chief Secretary assured that all the Associations will also be provided with financial support as proposed.
