JAMMU, Dec 19: RangRoots staged special show of the play “Frozen Dreams” conceptualized, designed and directed by Asheish Nijhawan here today at Natrang Studio Theatre.
On the occasion, Vijay Bakaya, MLC and Former Chief Secretary was the chief guest, while Natrang Director Balwant Thakur, was also present.
The plot of the play emerges from the mass migration of Hindus, which happened in early Nineties. It’s the journey of a young boy who migrated from the Valley at the age of six. His early childhood impressions, those images of turmoil, brutalities and cries still haunt him. Despite making all-out efforts to run away from that space, those frightening images of horror still horrify him every moment and time. The sufferings of the displaced and people in exile have been beautifully portrayed using the languages of images and sounds. Such sufferings could easily be related to any place or region. Be it the case of Tibetans, or Palestinians the pain of wounds is the same.
The entire play has just few spoken words but convey everything. The last lines by actors  “It has happened, it goes on happening, and will happen again”, says everything.
The actors who performed were Rohit Verma, Balwinder Singh, Gaurav Jamwal, Uplaksh Kotwal, Ashwini Bali, Baljeet Singh, Shivam Manhas and Sushil Raina.
The lights of the play were designed by yet another product of National School of Drama Sajol Mondal, while Anil Tickoo executed the lights.
Vijay Goswami looked after the video projections and Sajra Qadir, Mohd Yaseen, Rajni Bhatti and Vishal Sharma rendered the backstage support.
