Rangyug launches Summer Internship Programme

JAMMU, June 20: As part of its 40 years celebration, Rangyug, a performing arts foundation of Jammu, announced the commencement of a pioneering Summer Internship Programme (SIP) in performing arts, exclusively designed for the students of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar and Government College for Women, Parade Ground.
This groundbreaking initiative marks the first of its kind in Jammu, focusing on empowering young women through the performing arts.
This 60 hours programme was inaugurated by Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo, Principal GCW Parade, in the presence of Deepak Kumar, Director Rangyug, distinguished faculty members from the different colleges and renowned personalities including Ashutosh Sharma, Pankaj Pradhan, Amarjeet Singh, R J Juhie (92.7 Big FM), Ashish Sharma, Shivan Gupta, Dr. Naveen Sharma among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo commended the initiative and encouraged the students to take advantage of this unique opportunity. He highlighted that the programme offers an enriching and immersive experience across various disciplines of performing arts. Sessions will be conducted by renowned experts from the fields of Music, Dance and Theatre, ensuring participants receive top-notch guidance and mentorship. Dr. Tickoo appreciated the implementation of NEP 2020 in J&K, emphasizing the potential to nurture a new generation of confident and professional artists under real-world mentorship.
Addressing the gathering, Deepak Kumar described the internship as a significant step toward nurturing artistic talents among young women in Jammu. “We are committed to providing these students with the necessary tools and guidance to excel in their chosen fields. Our goal is to create an environment that not only fosters creativity but also instils confidence and professionalism,” he said.
R J Juhie in the later session interacted with the students and shared her journey from Theatre to present position. She also motivated the students to explore different possibilities of professions beyond traditional choices.
Rangyug’s Summer Internship Programme promises to be a transformative experience for participants, paving the way for future collaborations and continued support for female students in the arts. The foundation eagerly anticipates witnessing the growth and success of these young artists as they embark on this exciting journey.
Seventy students from PSPS, GCW Gandhi Nagar, and GCW Parade are participating in this Summer Internship Programme to explore and develop their artistic skills.
