MENDHAR, Sept 11: The police arrested an accused for committing rape on a minor school girl and making her pregnant in Mendhar area of district Poonch today.
The accused identified as Mohd Ikhlaq, son of Mehmood Ahmed, resident of village Chhajla in Mendhar was arrested after two months from a hideout by a police party led by SI Pankaj Parihar, under the supervision of SHO Mendhar Bishnesh Kumar today. The accused had raped a student of 9th class who turned pregnant and also delivered a female baby in local hospital about two months back. The girl, who was threatened by the accused, later revealed the whole episode to the parents and police registered a case FIR No. 91/2013 under Section 376 RPC against the accused and arrested him today from a hideout.
