Fine imposed on porters at Bhawan

JAMMU, Jan 24: Katra police today arrested a rape accused involved in the case of a 45 year old women of New Delhi, who had been raped by him during their visit to Katra in the year 2015.
Katra police had received a Zero FIR through post from Pahargunj police station in New Delhi on November 22, 2018 in which it had been mentioned that a woman had been raped by one Mukesh Gupta son of Ramesh Chander, a resident of Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi during their trip to Katra in a hotel there.
The complainant said the rapist had threatened to kill her if she disclosed the act to anyone.
Katra police registered a FIR No. 13/2019 under Sections 376 and 506 RPC and arrested the accused from Janpath Bhawan at Connaught Palace, New Delhi.
Police teams from Katra made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal, SP Katra Naresh Singh, SDPO Katra Vivek Shekhar and SHO Katra Inspector Surinder Pal Singh.
Meanwhile, Bhawan police in Katra today conducted surprise check at Sanji Chat and Sameer Point at Adh Kunwari and fined 48 poneywallahs, porters and palkiwallahs for overcharging, not wearing uniform, not keeping Identity cards with them and of tobacco possession.
A fine of Rs 18,100 was imposed on the defaulters.
Police parties from Bhawan led by DySP Satpal Modi, SHO Bhawan Inspector Arun Singh and Incharge Adh Kunwari Police Post ASI Partap Singh conducted the drive.
