JAMMU, Nov 23: Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed today they have arrested an individual who allegedly raped a woman here, from Uttar Pradesh.
Mohammad Ali of Paizaniya, district Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh was evading his arrest after he was booked on charges of rape on the complaint of a woman lodged at Police Station Pacca Danga on October 31, 2024, a police official said.
He said post registration of FIR, the SHO Pacca Danga promptly initiated a comprehensive investigation and after hectic efforts, a police team led by PSI Basharat Hussain successfully arrested the accused from Kukra area in district Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he said.
Pertinently, the entire operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO City North and guidance of SP City North.
