‘Rape’ victim, a lawyer, attempts suicide outside CJI room in SC

NEW DELHI, Sept 22:
A gangrape victim allegedly tried to  commit suicide this noon outside the court room of Chief Justice  of India RM Lodha, eyewitnesses said.    The victim is a lawyer, who hails from Chhattisgarh.    She was reported to be depressed and demoralised as her alleged tormentors who subjected her to humiliation and torture of gangrape were roaming free.
The girl, who said she had failed to obtain justice, was immediately rushed to hospital.
She allegedly consumed some poisonous substance.    The Supreme Court has taken cognizance of the unfortunate incident and has fixed the case for hearing tomorrow. (UNI)
