Rare open heart surgeries performed in GMC

JAMMU, Aug 3: Department of Cardio Vascular Thoraric Surgery and Cardiac Anesthesia (SSH), Government Medical College Jammu, successfully performed open heart surgeries in very rare congenital heart diseases.
Two patients one having a hole in the heart and blockage of one of the vital heart valves and the other having a hole between two chambers of heart and also between Aorta and Pulmonary artery, underwent successful open heart surgeries in GMC recently.
The surgical team comprised of HoD, Cardio Vascular and  Thoraric Surgery, Dr Noor Ali, along with his team members Dr Ishtyak Ahmed Mir, Dr Arvind Kohli, Dr Vivek Gandotra and paramedical staff of the CVTS Department while the Cardiac Anaesthesia team was headed by HoD, Cardiac Anaesthesia, Dr Puja Vimesh.
