Baramulla, July 30: Commissioner Secretary Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Dr Abdul Rashid accompanied by Director FCS&CA Kashmir Nissar Ahmad Wani today visited Baramulla and convened a meeting with the authorities of the department to review its functioning and availability of essential commodities in the district.
Assistant Director, FCS&CA ,Baramulla Iram Aziz,TSOs and various other functionaries attended the meeting.
On the occasion, Commissioner Secretary took a comprehensive review wherein he was briefed about the public distribution mechanism by the Assistant Director. He stressed for Aadhar seeding of every consumer with the E-PDS system and directed for ensuring 100% linkage of ration cards with Aadhar.
He highlighted the significance of the process and said that it will streamline the public distribution system bring in transparency and remove pilferages. Further consumers will be enable to avail the ration at other depots also. Moreover, he instructed the officials to be keen and meticulous towards their work and provide tour diaries to the Assistant Director and Director.
Meanwhile, Dr Rashid emphasized for facilitating the availability of all essentials to the people. He directed the concerned to ensure adequate supply of commodities at every centre and exhorted for considering public convenience on priority.
Later, the Commissioner Secretary inspected Food Corporation of India(FCI) centre and other depots to review the the distribution process wherein he interacted and inquired from the people about the same.
