Rashid submits resolutions on Guru, release of prisoners

SRINAGAR, Mar 11: MLA Langate Engineer Rashid today said that he has submitted two resolutions in Jammu and Kashmir State Assembly about the release of all prisoners from jails in and outside State, and also bring mortal remains of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru.
“Let this House resolve that all the political prisoners languishing in different jails in and outside Jammu and Kashmir be released unconditionally, to create conductive atmosphere for return of peace in the State”, says a resolution submitted by Rashid.
Rashid’s second resolution States that: “Let the House resolve that mortal remains of late Afzal Guru hanged in Tihar jail be returned to the family on humanitarian ground so that his family can perform his last rites according to the religious obligation.”
Rashid said that he is hopeful that this time Speaker of the Assembly would accept both the resolutions, as both the resolutions are important for the peaceful atmosphere here. “I have submitted these two important resolutions yesterday and am hopeful this time it will go throw in the Assembly,” Rashid told reporters.
