BHADERWAH, Nov 16: A nine year old boy was killed after a rashly driven load carrier vehicle crushed him when he was crossing a road with his father at Khellani market area on Batote-Kishtwar Highway today.
SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom said that the incident took place when Mohd Iqbal and his minor son Nasir were trying to cross a road at busy Khellani market.
He also said that the boy moved ahead and his father ran to stop him when a load carrier vehicle of Mahindra make bearing registration number JK17A-4586 crushed the boy.
“Nasir was immediately rushed to GMC Doda in serious condition where he succumbed to his injuries at 12.30 pm,” the SSP maintained adding: “A case of rash and negligent driving was registered against the driver at Khellani Police Post and he was arrested and the vehicle impounded.” Click here to watch video
It is pertinent to mention here that a bus met with an accident at Trungal area of Assar in Doda yesterday killing 39 people and injuring 17 others.
