Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha organizes ‘Salute to Gallantry’ programme at SKICC

SRINAGAR, June 23: The Kashmir unit of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha organized “Salute to Gallantry” programme at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), here.
The programme was inaugurated virtually by Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Governor of Uttarakhand), who was the chief guest while Swami Chidanand Saraswati Maharaj (founder, Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh) presided over the event.
Guests of honour on the occasion were Prof (Dr) Pawan Sinha (founder, Paavan Chintan Dhara Ashram), Rajan Chhibber (Advisor to Government of Andhra Pradesh), Rajesh Kumar Chibber (Director, J&K Bank), Shilpa Mahajan (Principal, SIS Akhnoor, Jammu), Major Gen ML Aswal (former Major General, Army Ordnance Corps) and Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi (Vir Chakra).
While inaugurating the program online, Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh said that whenever any good change has come in this country, it has come only when the saints and soldiers have raised their voice together. He said the presence of Swami Chidanand Saraswati and Prof (Dr) Pawan Sinha in this program is an indication that something even more good is going to happen.
Rajan Chhibber, Maj Gen M L Aswal and RK Chhibber said that the courage displayed by the Indian Army soldiers in the north and south of Pir Panjal Range in Kashmir, without caring about their comfort, in the face of death and the enemy, is beyond words, praiseworthy and exemplary.
On the occasion, the guests also released the “Coffee Table Book” of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha.
Addressing the programme, Pawan Sinha said that he is feeling proud while addressing the brave soldiers of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha and the patriotic citizens and the courageous women. He said the courage can also be enhanced through military training and this is the reason why military training and military service are compulsory in many countries.
National president of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha, Col Tejendra Pal Tyagi said that the objectives of this institution are revival of patriotism, respect for the families of martyred soldiers, removal of the prevailing ills in the country and basic military training in schools.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati said the responsibility of character building begins at home, but just by participating in programmes like today, courage is instilled. He announced the linking of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha with Parmarth Niketan Ashram on a permanent basis.
Coordinator of Kashmir unit of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha Mohammad Dam Kabul Malik and Coordinator of National Capital Region Shri Rajiv Joli Khosla, who organized “Salute to Gallantry” program, administered oath to the people of Kashmir that they will say ‘Jai Hind’ while greeting each other in public places and will also make others say ‘Jai Hind’.
On the occasion, Altaf Vanganu, Mohammed Kabul Malik, Rajiv Joli Khosla, Anju Sharma, Daltashree Anil Vadnere and Pankaj Asati were honoured for their special grassroots contribution.
A resolution was also passed on the occasion that the proud soldiers, patriotic citizens and brave hearts of Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha will work towards imparting basic military training in schools at least at the level of Class 8 and demand the Government that the Sanstha be given the responsibility for imparting basic military training in all schools on payment basis.
