BRANWAR (CHADOORA), July 23: Reiterating Governments resolve to ensure equitable development of all the regions and sub-regions of the state, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today said that the state under the leadership of Omar Abdullah is passing through an unprecedented era of progress in all the spheres of life . He said development of backward and remote areas has remained the main focus of Government’s policy frame work and planning parameters.
Addressing a series of public meetings at Sheikhpora, Neegoo, Jabad and Branwar villages in Chadoora tehsil, Rather said that the Government has brought the administration at the door steps of the common people, adding that creation of new administrative units in length and breadth of the state will go a long way in this regard. “Creation of administrative units at the doorsteps of people will ensure quick and appropriate redressal of their grievances,” Mr. Rather maintained.
He said the present Government has embarked on a well planned strategy to bring improvement in all sectors on modern lines, adding that all available resources are being pooled to fructify these plans as per the urges and aspirations of the people.
The Minister also took stock of the problems of the people in these areas and reviewed the pace of development works.
Taking stock of water facilities in Wadbal Branwar and construction of approach road up to Chak Suriyar, the Minister said that the estimates for these works will be prepared on war footing basis. He assured the people that Chowdhary Kohl will be revived to augment irrigation facilities in the area.
He asked the engineers of PDD to streamline the power distribution system in the area, adding that additional power transformers should be installed wherever required.
The Minister was accompanied by the senior officers of the CA&PD, district administration and engineers of R&B, PHE, Irrigation, Power and RDD.
