CHRARIPORA (BUDGAM), June 24: Asserting that uniform opportunity of justice to all and equitable development of all the three region of the State with emphasize on remote and bad pockets is the first priority of the present Government, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today said that the State is at the threshold of a big socio-economic transformation, adding that J&K has witnessed many big strides in all the sectors of life during last five and half years.
Addressing a public meeting at Chraripora in Chrar-i-Sharief constituency, after inaugurating Rs. 44.50 lakh two storied high school building today, Mr Rather said that the present Government soon after taking over in 2009 immediately embarked upon a massive infrastructure development programme for colleges, schools and health institutions as the previous Government had announced upgradation of these institutions without creating the required basic infrastructure viz buildings and staff for these institutions.
The Minister, on this occasion, also inaugurated a health sub center building in the village.
“Creation of staff for colleges, schools, health institutions was biggest challenge before the present Government when it took over, which has been successfully overcome”, Mr. Rather added.
Mr. Rather directed the concerned engineers to take up construction of approach road up to the newly constructed high school building immediately so that school children are not put to any inconvenience. He announced that the upcoming Rs. 12 crore sub district hospital at Monpora, Pakharpora will be inaugurated shortly as it is at final stage of completion.
He also announced to setup a receiving station at some central location in Pakharpora area to augment and streamline the existing power supply. He also announced to setup an additional power transformer at chraripora as demanded by the locals.
Listing some of its landmark initiatives undertaken by the present Govt. for making J&K a prosperous state, Mr. Rather said that for the first time in the history of the state a comprehensive power generation policy was devised which envisages to generate about 9000 MW power within next five years.
Seeking cooperation of the people in maintaining peace, Mr Rather said despite repeated conspiracies to vitiate peace in the state by the vested interests, rule of law was restored which gave a fresh impetus to the tourist activities in nook and corner of the state. “As we see tourism is in full bloom today and business activities are a buzz throughout the State”, Mr Rather asserted.
Responding to the demand of locals, he assured that concerned engineers would be asked to device appropriate engineering plan to provide irrigation facilities in the Karewa Chrar-i-Pora. He cautioned the people against false propaganda of opposition political parties leashed against NC-Congress, adding that the sagacious people of the state should not get swayed by their falsehood and deceit.
“They will come before you in different guise to hoodwink you but they deserve disregard for exploiting sentiments of innocent people for satiating their vested political benefits,” he added.
