Ration cards for e-shram registrants

JAMMU, Dec 18: In compliance with the orders of Supreme Court, J&K Government today accorded sanction to the issuance of new ration cards to the eligible J&K registrants to be identified on e-Shram portal by the Labour & Employment Department, by Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
The Government also designated Labour & Employment Department as the Nodal Department for providing the necessary details, including Aadhar number of such registrants, to the concerned Assistant Directors of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department of the district for issuance of ration cards, besides ensuring wide publicity of the facility.
Besides, a panel comprising Labour Commissioner, J&K as the Chairman and Directors, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Jammu/Srinagar, representatives of Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts, representatives of the State Informatics Officer, NIC, Assistant Labour Commissioner of the concerned district, and Assistant Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, has also been constituted to monitor the entire process of issuance of ration cards to e-shram registrants in compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court.
It is further ordered that in case the targets capped for a District assigned by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India are exceeded, the matter shall immediately be reported to the FCS&CA Department, so that the same is flagged with the concerned Ministry for seeking revision of capping, if required.
