JAMMU, Aug 12: All J&K Fair Price Ration Shop Dealers Association has demanded the Government to adjust all ration dealers as employees in the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department (FCS&CAD) and clear all their dues pending since 2014.
These issues were raised during a press conference organized here today after a meeting of Ration dealers. Speaking on the occasion, Association leaders demanded adjustment of all the dealers as employees in this Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, which has also been decided in the Cabinet Meeting held in the year 2014 and 2018.
The Association strongly condemned that the carriage charges and commission for supply of Relief Ration Material as well as other dues are still pending to be released in favour of dealers even with effect from 2014. “If One Nation-One Ration Card Policy is implemented in J&K, then One Nation-One Work-One Right policy should also be implemented in the UT,” it stressed.

The speakers requested higher authorities to allow the ration dealers to deposit the amount for purchase/supply of ration material from the depots by deducting the carriage and commission amount in advance by the dealers. “We have been continuously demanding redressal of our demands since 2014 onwards, but the department is continuously ignoring these demands,” they said, adding, under such circumstances, it has become almost impossible for them to continue supply of ration material.
They said dues on different accounts for the dealers of districts Reasi, Doda, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur as well as Jammu are pending to be released from 2017 onwards but the concerned Assistant Directors are not paying any heed to their requests. The dealers said they will resort to indefinite strike across the UT if their demands are not redressed immediately.
