JAMMU, May 12: All J&K Fair Price Shop Ration Dealers Association here today staged a protest demonstration and organised a meeting to raise their issues.
Speakers in the meeting demanded that the Government should adjust the ration dealers as employees in Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department as the same was decided in the cabinet meeting in the year 2014 and 2018.
They also demanded release of pending dues on account of Carriage Commission charges in favour of the ration dealers which are pending since the year 2020.
Association members said that the Government has not released these dues in favour of the ration dealers despite the fact that these dealers conducted door to door supply of ration to the public during COVID-19 pandemic.
They said that they will go for indefinite strike if their demands are not conceded.
