JAMMU, Aug 9: Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar today instructed the CAPD functionaries to strictly ensure that all the payments to ration dealers be made through invoice/online and maintain that the ration supply from September 2015 onwards would be made on the basis of 2011 Census.
Chairing a meeting of Assistant Directors of various districts of Jammu division, the Minister said that every effort has been taken to ensure transparency and accountability in department functioning.
Director CAPD Jammu G.S. Chib, Deputy Director Supplies Atam Dev Singh, Deputy Director F&R Arun Kotwal, Chief Account Officer Iftikar Hussain, Assistant Directors from various districts were present in the meeting.
The meeting took various decisions to further improve the functioning of the department at grass root level.
The Minister also took stock about the status of installation of digital weighing machines, sign board with complete details, complaint/suggestion box at ration depots of all districts.
While reviewing the status of supply position in every district, the Minister directed the Assistant Directors to ensure timely delivery of ration to the people adding that any delay from their side would not be tolerated. Zulfkar also directed the Assistant Directors to conduct price fixation meeting in their respective districts every month and also to prepare directory of their respective districts with all details of ration dealers, officials/officers of CAPD of the district, etc.
The Minister also directed Assistant Director Mills to conduct regular visit of Mills and check the quality and quantity of rice, wheat, etc.
Zulfkar directed the officers of the CA&PD Department to pay regular visits of field ensuring that the supply of essential commodities is reaching to the people living in far-flung areas.
