Sir,
This has a reference to advertisement published by Rural Dev. Department in this paper on 20th Oct showing number of Panchayats in each CD-Block. From the perusal of notice it seems that CD-Blocks have been sanctioned on the basis of political considerations rather than for the community development on equal lines throughout the district.
One is wonderstruck to see Udhampur Block having forty three Panchayats and Chenani Block having twenty Panchayats. It is pertinent to mention that a Panchayat has many villages so we can easily imagine that CD-Block Udhampur has more than hundred villages. Is it possible to exercise effective supervision and monitoring of developmental works of hundreds of villages by one BDO ? On the other hand we see in the notice that CD-Block Sewna has only five Panchayats and CD-Block -Dudu only seven Panchayats. It is clear that much importance has been given to CD-Blocks Chenani and Udhampur due to unknown reasons. In order to streamline the rush of work in overloaded blocks and take the development at door step of every poor villager. It is requested that Udhampur Block be divided into four blocks viz Udhampur, Jib, Krimchi and Roun-Domel and adjoining Panchayats be attached with new blocks for proper representation of public and redressal of public grievances. Another largest CD-Block Chenani be bi-furcated into two and new CD-Block be sanctioned at Sudhmahadev. We see that Sudhmahadev already has Naib-Tehsildar and PHC and many other offices and is easily approachable from all adjoining villages of hilly belt.So Block HQ can effectively function at Sudhmahadev for better supervision of developmental activities and Block specific grants will directly reach from Delhi to new Blocks of Udhampur and Chenani.
