JAMMU, June 14: All J&K Shri Guru Ravidass Sabha has announced to celebrate the birth anniversary of late Babu Milkhi Ram by organizing an impressive but simple function at the Sabha premises on June 16.
“On the occasion, rich tributes will be paid to the great social activist and reformer for his selfless and devotional service to the downtrodden in Jammu and Kashmir,” informed Vijay Lochan, president of Shri Guru Ravidass Sabha while talking to media persons, here today.
Besides, he added, the Sabha will also pay tributes to five departed former heads of the Sabha and honour their family member as a token of respect towards the leaders who played great role in upliftment and unity of the community.
Throwing light on life history of late Babu Milkhi Ram and departed former presidents of the Ravidass Sabha, Mr Lochan said that celebration of the birth anniversary is an initiative of the Sabha to remember its leaders and their services to the community.
He appealed all the community members to participate in the birth anniversary celebration programme in great number and pay tributes to the departed leaders.
The programme will start at 9.30 am sharp and conclude at 11-30 am, informed Sham Lal Basson, general secretary of the Sabha, who was also present on the occasion.
