JAMMU June 7: Hari Krishan Razdan Joint Director of Agriculture, (Extension), Jammu was today appointed as the new Director of Agriculture Jammu.
The post of Director Agriculture had fallen vacant after the superannuation of A K Malhotra on May 31 this year. The order regarding appointment of Razdan as new Director was issued by Principal Secretary to Agriculture Sandeep Kumar Nayak, at Srinagar today.
Razdan assumed the charge as the Director of Agriculture, later here today. A graduate of Meerut University (UP) in Agriculture and Post Graduate in Soil Sciences from SKUAST J&K, H. K. Razdan has worked in different capacities in the Department since 1981. He has rich experience of more than 35 years in administration, extension, management and development of farming sector and farmlands of the State.
Razdan while taking over said that he will spare no efforts in coming to the expectations of the Government and work for welfare of farming community in the State. It may be recalled that the farming community of Jammu had earlier demanded that the head of Agriculture Department should be from the in service officers who can better understand the technical issues than outside KAS officer.
