R&B Secy inspects 4-lanning of National Highway

ANANTNAG, Nov 25: Commissioner Secretary R&B Department, Rohit Kansal today inspected various sites of 4-lanning of National Highway and took stock of the progress of the work. He also inspected other ongoing works being executed by R&B Department.
The Commissioner Secretary inspected earth filling work at Lasjan being carried out under the 4-lanning of NH project. He directed the concerned executing agency to expedite the pace of work besides ensuring the quality of work. On way, he also inspected the works at Gallandar, Barsoo, Semthan bridge and Bijbehara bypass sites of the project.
The Commissioner Secretary directed for carrying out beautification works of central verge under the project on priority by ensuring all season greenery on the central verge of the Highway.
Later, Commissioner Secretary visited Bherampora Anantnag and inspected the ongoing work on Sofipora Bridge being constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore. He directed the concerned to speed up the pace of work to ensure its timely completion.
While reviewing the progress of 5 km long Mehendi Kadal-Ashajipora-Bonipaw bypass project work, the Commissioner Secretary asked the engineers to start work on second phase of the project so that it is completed in stipulated time to benefit the large population of the area.
At Dyalgam, he inspected the ongoing plinth work of Medical College. He was informed that Rs 120 crore is being spent on the project and by the end of January 2017 plinth work would be completed. He also took stock of the Larkipora steel bridge and was informed that the bridge would be completed soon.
The Commissioner Secretary also visited the site of Government Polytechnic College building at Larkipora and took stock of the progress of work. He was informed that the College building is being constructed at a cost of Rs 13 crore. He directed the concerned to complete the tress work of the college by March and other works including electrification, flooring, and compound walling by ending June 2017.
Chief Engineer R&B, Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, SSP Anantnag, officers of R&B and RAMKY Infra and other concerned accompanied the Commissioner Secretary during his tour.
Earlier, the Commissioner Secretary visited Sonwar Srinagar and inspected the ongoing works of road widening and parking slot there. He also took stock of the work being executed for extension of culvert. He directed the concerned to complete the culvert by December end.
