RAMBAN, July 10: Commissioner Secretary Public Works Department, Sanjeev Verma today inspected progress of ongoing four laning National Highway Project in Ramban.
He reviewed progress and achievements registered by construction agencies engaged for the job on different stretches and also resolved bottlenecks.
The Commissioner Secretary directed SE, PWD Doda to camp at Ramban alongwith required staff for completing assessment of identified structures to be demolished for the construction of prestigious four laning project.
He asked the authorities of construction agencies to maintain close liaison and coordination with district administration to overcome bottlenecks hampering expeditious execution of works.
He took a detailed review of the progress achieved on ongoing development works being executed by National Highway Authority of India and construction companies in Ramban district.
He directed the officers of department and agencies to speed up the work keeping in view importance of the four laning project for safe and stable road connectivity.
District Development Commissioner Ramban, Tariq Hussain Ganai, Project Director NHAI M.T Attarde, ADC Angrez Singh, CPO Uttam Singh, SE R&B PWD N.D Khawaja, XEN PWD Udhampur and representatives of construction companies were present in the meeting
Stressing on strict adherence to quality specifications of infra projects, Verma directed the officers to ensure close monitoring of quality of work.
Earlier, engineers of construction companies including GAMMON, HCC, NAVYUGA and RAMKY in a power point presentation briefed the meeting about plan, progress, status of land acquisition, physical achievements besides appraising the chair about bottlenecks.
The DDC assured full cooperation from district administration to construction agencies for accelerating construction work of four- laning project. He informed that district administration has already resolved most of issues that were brought in its notice.
