SRINAGAR, Aug 23: After repeated pleas by locals, the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department has finally woken up in Pampore Town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district and has started macadamization of link roads.
The condition of link roads in historic Town of Pampore was worse with people regularly demanding macadamization. However, now the R&B Department, after long wait, has started the process of macadamization.
The Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of R&B, Ashiq Hussain, told Excelsior that the repairing of the roads was started couple of days ago and from today they have started black topping.
“We would be macadamizing a total of 5 kilometers of roads in Pampore interiors,” he said, adding: “subject to the weather conditions and circumstances, we will complete the work in two weeks.
In addition, he said, the work on Galender-Pampore road has been completed. “Furthermore, we also completed work at various places on Pampore-Pulwama-Shopian road,” he added.
