RBI committee invites suggestions on financial inclusion

MUMBAI, Oct 5: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has said that its committee on Comprehensive Financial Services for Small Businesses and Low-Income Households has invited suggestion from various stakeholders on development of financial services delivery model with a view to enabling them to share their thoughts on the subject.
It may be recalled that the Reserve Bank of India constituted a Committee on Comprehensive Financial Services for Small Businesses and Low-Income Households under the Chairmanship of Dr. Nachiket Mor, Member of the Central Board of Directors, Reserve Bank of India.
The committee has members drawn from the formal financial sector; from organisations that are engaged in developing new models of financial services delivery, in rural as well as urban contexts.
Shri A Udgata, principal chief general manager, rural planning and credit department, RBI is the member secretary of the committee.
Interested stakeholders who wish to make a formal submission to the Committee should email it by October 31, 2013.
The Committee will submit its final report by December 31, 2013.
