RBPS releases late Dr Gangadutt’s book ‘Atharvved— Ek Digdarshan’

JAMMU, Jan 4: In a function organized today, Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti (RBPS) Jammu released a book titled ‘Atharvved— Ek Digdarshan,’ authored by late Dr Gangadutt Shastri “Vinod” and edited by Dr Om Kumar Sharma (Shri Vyas Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Raghunathpur, Kullu).
The book was released by chief guest Padamshree Dr Jitendra Udhampuri along with Padamshree Dr Vishvamurti Shastri (Retired Chancellor, Sanskkrit University, New Delhi), Dr Om Kumar Sharma, Bharat Bushan Sharma and his wife, writer Shreyas Jain, Dr Baljit Raina, Prof Sharat Sharma and Dr Raj Kumar Sharma.
Earlier, Bharat Bhushan Sharma presented welcome address and Anita Mehta anchored the stage. The function concluded with vote of thanks presented by Prof. Sanjay Singh Sambyal.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Om Kumar Sharma briefed the importance of Dr Gangadutt’s work ‘Atharvved Ek Digdarshan’, and importance of this work in literary world of Sanskrit. He also quoted Dr Gangadutt’s comic poem “yeh paapi mera per priya”, to throw light on the stature of Dr Gangadutt.
Dr Jitendra Udhampuri read a poem on Atharvved while Dr Vishvamurti summarized the importance of the book and acknowledged efforts of Bharat Bushan Sharma and Dr Om Kumar Sharma who as sons and disciples of the Shastri Vinod Ji worked tirelessly to get this book published and let it come from hidden piles for the benefit of common masses.
Dr Vishvamurti emphasized on the present social conditions of the society and the importance of such literature to mould and enrich the culture values & ethics among people through which so many emerging deformities can be capsized.
