JAMMU, May 23: Director Rural Development (RD) Jammu Sudershan Kumar along with Assistant Commissioner Development Jammu Amit Vermani visited Block Mandal Phallian of Jammu District to review ongoing works of MGNREGA for the Financial Year 2020-2021.
During his visit, he inspected ongoing works including works for water conservation and irrigation. He reviewed the precautions being taken by MGNREGA workers in view of COVID-19 pandemic. The Director noted that the labour engaged were following proper protocol and necessary precautions related to prevention of COVID-19.
BDO Phallain Mandal, Sadia Ahmed, highlighted that these MGNREGA works are providing employment for more than 100 days to people of the block in line with SOPs issued by the Government.
Sudershan encouraged the RDD officials to work with full zeal for timely completion of ongoing works. He also said that the Rural Development Department is working to complete works of public importance and this will be instrumental for asset building in the block.
