RDD Insp among 5 injured in clash

RAJOURI, Mar 20: An employee of Rural Development Department (RDD) was among five persons injured in a clash between two parties in Sunderbani area today.
Sources said that incident took place when the Panchayat Inspector, Nasib Singh along with an VLW had gone to village Prat near Siot to deliver work order worth Rs 10 lakh. Two parties were interested to get earth work on a local tractor road at the village under BDO Block Siot.
The RDD employees from BDO office Siot called both the parties and some prominent villagers of the area at one place and tried to settle the dispute. During the process, both the parties had heated exchanges and it was followed by bloody clash.
While controlling the situation, Panchayat Inspector Nasib Singh also received severe injuries. Both sides exchanged lathis and blows and during this clash four others including, Tariq Hussain and two women were also injured.
They were removed to Sunderbani hospital, where doctors referred Nasib Singh and Tariq to GMC Hospital, Jammu. Block Development Officer, Siot has lodged an FIR in this connection at Sunderbani Police Station. The police registered a case and started investigation.
