Srinagar, Feb 5: The Community Information Centre (CIC) operators who are demanding regularization of their services including that of hike in the salary are aghast over the administration’s move of handing over their matter to the sub-committee already looking into the issues of other casual workers.
The aggrieved CIC operators told Excelsior that the administration is resorting to the delay tactics which they said is evident from the fact that their issues have been handed over to the sub-committee.
It is to be noted here that the CIC operators are pressing for their issues for a long while as GAD had earlier asked the RDD to submit the necessary details of the CIC operators to place their issue before the establishment cum selection committee for regularization.
The CIC operators said that first in June 2021, GAD advised the RDD to submit the requisite information “so that the regularization case of CIC operators of RDD will be put forth before the selection committee, but now that the administration has handed over the matter to the sub-committee, it suggests that they are trying to buy more time,” the operators said.
In an order which was earlier issued by the GAD, the incorporation of the issues of the CIC operators of the Rural Development Department by the said sub-committee was ordered which is looking into the matter of Rehbar-e-Khel and Rehbar-e-Janglat.
As per the details, the entire codal formalities stand completed with regard to the regularization of the CIC operators who have been recruited through proper procedure.
Also, regarding the matter, the cabinet issued an order for their regularization even as 172 posts were created in 2016 and the same was cleared by Empowered Committee in 2017 for the regularization.
Pertinent to mention that the legal opinion from both Law Department & Advocate General has also favoured the CIC Operators, however, despite that the Government has been indecisive on taking a decision in this regard.
Further, since their appointment, the CIC operators are getting Rs 10,000/- as their monthly salary whiles the same has not witnessed any hike since then. The CIC operators have also been pressing for the salary hike even as the same has been cleared by the RDD Kashmir as well as Jammu.
