JAMMU, Apr 29: Former Minister, Ch Lal Singh today appealed to the Government that all the retired and trained doctors of the IMS, Allopathy, Unani, Ayurvedha etc. and retired medical officers, staff should be reemployed in all the district hospitals to deal with the pandemic.
He appealed to the Lt Governor to personally intervene into the matter and ensure that all the hospitals of UT are well equipped in terms of both human resources and infrastructure and urged him to reinstate the recently terminated paramedical staff of different colleges. Nearly 70 junior staff nurses were posted in each Medical College situated in the districts of Kathua, Rajouri, Anantnag, Baramulla and Doda. The order of their termination was issued on the directions of Financial Commissioner is really unfortunate, he added.
He said disengaging the nursing staff at associated hospitals of these medical colleges has caused scarcity in already staff scarce hospitals in this hour of Pandemic. It is very unfortunate that entire India is honoring the doctors and paramedical staff but the J&K Government has terminated the medical staff. The expenses of the reemploying the staff should be borne out of the PM CARES Fund which is the need of the hour, he added.
He said if the additional staff is recruited we will be able to deal with the pandemic more aggressively. It is also the dire need of the hour that the frequency of the COVID test should be enhanced to the maximum to have tangible results as we have to be proactive in this regard. The human life is most important for us and cannot be compromised at the cost of economy, he added. He further said that Indians are known for their hard work and to survive in meager resources and will brave this crisis also with courage and strength.
Ch Lal Singh appealed to the Lt. Governor, GC Murmu that internal activities in those districts be allowed which are free from Corona Virus ,. The shopkeepers, plumbers, electricians should be allowed to operate so that they can earn their bread, he added.
