JAMMU, Apr 22: Urging upon the Government to reach out to all the poor and deserving people in the relief operations, District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) has taken exception to the numerous complaints of neglect of large number of deserving people from the relief distribution of the Govt and some NGOs.
Continuing with the ongoing campaign of self-contributory voluntary ration service to the left out poor families, the DCC Jammu Urban Control Room unit held a review of the system of the Govt to provide free ration to the poor people through administration as well as red cross and some other NGOs.
The review was attended by former minister and general secretary PCC in-charge district president Jammu Urban Yogesh Sawhney, chief spokesperson of the party Ravinder Sharma, S S Shingari, Neeraj Gupta secretary PCC, Suresh Dogra PCC chairman OBC, Corporators Ritu Choudhary and others through telephone.
It was noticed that large number of people from different wards have approached the Congress party narrating lack of any relief or ration to them by the Govt and others including the Red Cross, while tall claims are being made in the media by several quarters.
The party took exception to the selective approach of the administration towards certain blue eyed NGOs and asked the administration to provide level plying field in the distribution of relief and facilitate the service of people at thus crisis. They asked administrators to reach out to every needy person through impartial system by involving all shades of people.
