We are reaching out to people: Army

Srinagar, Oct 9: Firm handshakes, warm smiles and friendly hugs are becoming pronounced as the Army reaches out to people in different parts of the Valley on a daily basis, a defence spokesman said here.
“The genuineness of our efforts cannot remain unreciprocated for too long,” said the defence spokesman while quoting an officer from the Hajin Army Camp in Bandipora district who interacted with the people of Chirangpura, Bakshibal and Ningali villages to reassure them of their  Army’s assistance at all times.
“Parents and children were urged to restart schooling and shopkeepers to open their shops. Mutual trust and regard was palpable as the Army and youth of Mukhdamiyari and Bakshibal villages played a friendly game of cricket,” said the spokesman.
In a similar drive, the defence spokesman said, the Ajas based Army Camp in the district also engaged with the youth of Sadhunara to impress upon them their role in bringing back normalcy in the region.
