JAMMU, Jan 7: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla today stated that the State unit of the party is all set to welcome the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) in the UT on January 20.
“Our party cadre is gearing to greet Rahul Gandhi with greater exuberance on January 20 and different wings of our organization work in synergy till his foot march is over on January 30,” Bhalla said.
He stated this while chairing a preparatory meeting for the successful conduct of the forthcoming Yatra here at Bhour Pind area of Jammu South constituency. Bhalla was accompanied by former minister, Yogesh Sawhney; Sewa Dal Chief, Vijay Sharma Babbi; General Secretary SC Cell, Pawan Bhagat and other party leaders.
As per a press statement, the meeting was organised by Amrit Bali, Refugee Cell Chairman of the party.
Addressing the meeting, Bhalla hailed the comeback of several leaders into Congress fold who had earlier deserted the party.
“While BJY is yet to enter the UT, its impacts are visible on the ground as several leaders who earlier deserted the party, have yet again entered into the party fold,” he said.
The former minister said that the BJY has become a movement in the country “and this is the reason these leaders found no other option but to join the Congress again”.
“This is just the beginning. More people will join the Congress when BJY will enter the UT,” Bhalla further said.
He said that not just the deserters have started looking back but the BJP leaders are also perplexed over the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
“The BJP leaders know that the people are fed up with the politics of hate, division and hatred now and Rahul Gandhi’s BJY has rekindled a hope among them. This is the reason all the BJP leaders have now started attacking the BJY,” Bhalla said.
Former minister and senior Congress leader Yogesh Sawhney also said that the BJP leaders hitting out at BJP is a clear indication that the yatra is a huge success.
Party leaders Amrit Bali, Vijay Sharma Babbi, and Pawan Bhagat also hailed Rahul Gandhi for connecting with different sections of the society through the BJY.
Those who participated in the meeting were Sarpanch Ravinder Singh Dhera, Naib Sarpanch Parshotam Kumar, Pawan Bhagat, Sunil Slathia, Parveen Singh and others.
