REASI, Jan 20: Reasi Bus Stand area seems to have been excluded from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ as heaps of garbage and filth are seen here everywhere.
More ironic is the fact that instead of maintaining cleanliness in the area, the Municipal Committee of Reasi is itself dumping garbage here with the result foul smell emanates from the Bus Stand, which is visited hundreds of commuters daily.
The foul smell emanating from garbage dumps not only irritates the people visiting Bus Stand but also the children studying in Boys Higher Secondary School, which is situated at a few meters away. Stray animals in the area make the situation more grim and the entire Bus Stand look like a hell, said a shopkeeper in the area.
Despite repeated pleas to the Municipal Committee Reasi, no action has been taken for cleanliness of the Bus Stand, which sends a negative image of the District headquarter, said the locals and alleged that the Municipal Committee was least bothered about implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission in the town.
