Way back in 1990 during Governor’s rule, a grid station was sanctioned for the Reasi district. However, despite spending nearly 5.20 crore rupees on the project, the grid station has not seen the light of the day so far. After a lapse of over two decades, when the work was resumed on the grid station, costs had escalated from 6 to 16 crore rupees, thanks to the negligence and inefficiency of the authorities concerned. Concerned authorities say paucity of funds has resulted in stalling the work and the people in the district remain sufferers.
