JAMMU, Feb 3:  Solving the case of blind murder of a young couple from Haryana, who were found lying near Bidda Morh in Reasi on January 16, Reasi Police has arrested both the accused, one of whom has turned out to be real brother of the deceased man.
In the preliminary investigation, the accused have confessed that another minor girl of the murdered couple, who was spotted in the CCTV footage, was also killed and thrown in a nallah near Bidda Morh.
Though body of the minor girl has not yet been recovered, Police has seized the vehicle used in the triple murder. Attempt to grab the property of deceased couple was motive of the accused, who murdered his real brother, sister-in-law and one-year old niece.
The blind murder case was solved by a Special Investigating Team, headed by SHO Reasi Gurmeet Singh and comprising of Incharge Police Post Jyotipuram, Maqsood and others, under the supervision of then SSP Reasi Vivek Gupta and the incumbent SSP Sujit Kumar.
As reported earlier,   a young woman was found dead along with her critically injured husband and a minor daughter of four years from a roadside gorge at Bidda Morh under the jurisdiction of Police Station Jyotipuram in Reasi district on January 16. Two days later, the husband also succumbed to his injuries at GMC Hospital Jammu.
With the help of CCTV footage, recorded at the Mata Vaishno Devi Pilgrimage Registration Centre Katra, Police identified the deceased couple as Yogesh of Palwal Haryana, his wife Priyanka and daughter Neha. In the footage, the deceased woman was seen carrying another minor baby of around one year while an unidentified person was accompanying the couple.
Getting this clue, Reasi Police immediately flashed photographs of the couple in Palwal Haryana following which family members of the deceased reached here and identified the bodies. They also identified the person, accompanying the couple and spotted in CCTV footage.  He was Dinesh Kumar alias Neelu, younger brother of the deceased Yogesh.  As surviving   Neha had told the Police that her parents were killed by Chachu (father’s younger brother), the circumstantial evidences also virtually established that the gruesome crime was committed by Dinesh Kumar alias Neelu. Following this, a Police team led by Inspector Gurmeet Singh conducted a series of raids in Haryana and arrested Neelu yesterday while his associate Vikas alias Ramdheer of Haryana was held today.
Police has also seized the Xylo vehicle, bearing registration number HR73T-5368, which was used in the crime.
During interrogation, accused Neelu is learnt to have revealed that he first strangulated the couple as well as both their children and then threw their bodies in a gorge. While the elder daughter Neha along with her parents was thrown near Bidda Morh, the one-year old Angita, was thrown a few meters ahead.
Neelu confessed that he murdered his brother and sister-in-law along with minor daughter for grabbing their property, which included a house, some cash and a motorcycle.  He hatched a conspiracy with his friend Ramdheer and asked brother Yogesh to plan pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi along with wife and children keeping the visit a secret as other family members would also come forward if the same is revealed to them.
The victim family along with the accused  reached Katra on January 14 and after  Darshan at the holy cave shrine next day, they moved to Shiv Khori in the Xylo vehicle. However, on the way, Neelu with the help of his accomplice Ramdheer first strangulated the couple as well as their children and then threw their bodies near Bidda Morh.
Though they  attempted to eliminate the entire family, minor Neha apparently survived because of double scarf around her head. She was first spotted by some locals on January 16 and later body of her mother and critically injured father were also found lying in 30-feet deep gorge at Bidda Morh.
