JAMMU, Jan 30: Congress has urged the Government to reconsider its decision to open the schools from February first, in the wake of apprehensions of parents about the health and safety of their wards from the risks of COVID-19.
JKPCC has said that the Government should consider postponing the reopening of schools till the vaccination is done or at least till the situation further improves on this front. Instead the Government should consider immediate restoration of 4G services to facilitate smooth online teaching and studies of the children.
JKPCC Chief spokesperson said that the Government was indifferent all through to the repeated requests for the restoration of 4G services, knowing fully the hardships faced by the students that affected their studies but now resorting to opening the schools without vaccination process whereby the children can get the risks of COVID-19 infections.
The Government should undertake vaccination of teachers and staff on priority and restore 4-G internet facilities to have online classes from schools and postpone the attendance of children in schools in the interest of health and safety of the students, the spokesperson added.
