Reconsider decision of freezing DA release of employees, pensioners: NMC

JAMMU, Feb 22: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has urged upon the Prime Minister, Union Finance Minister and MoS Finance to reconsider the decision of freezing release of DA instalments of Centre, States and UTs employees and pensioners till June 2021.
In a meeting here today NMC president, Subash Shastri said DA instalments are additional financial assistance to cope up the additional burden of day-to-day rising prices of essential commodities.
“Salaried class of the country is at the forefront of battle against COVID-19 risking own safety and life while doing service to the nation and freezing DA will severely impact life of these people and the pensioners,” he maintained.
The NMC leader also pleaded the cause of thousands of daily rated workers working in various departments of J&K.
He said that the Government should timely disburse the pending wages of daily rated workers and constitute a separate wage head for regularly disbursement of their monthly salary till their regularization.
Shastri demanded enhancing of wages of daily rated workers to Rs. 600 per day beside their regularization under SRO 64; setting-up of Labour Welfare Board, implementation of all Central laws in J&K and medical allowance of pensioners to be hiked to Rs.1000 per month at par with other UTs.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ram Singh, Darshan Bawa, Ramesh Sharma, Tarseem Sharma, J.P Sharma, Gara Ram, Mohd Sadeeq and Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh also spoke on the occasion.
