JAMMU, Oct 15: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, has transferred the Rajasthan-IV H-1 Power Transmission Limited project to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL).
As per a statement, the handover took place on October 15, 2024, in Gurugram.
PGCIL emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) for the project through the Tariff-based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process managed by RECPDCL.
The project will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis and is scheduled for completion within 24 months.
The transmission project includes the establishment of a 765/400 kV Kurawar sub-station with 2×1500 MVA, 2×500 MVA, and 3×200 MVA transformers.
It will also feature a 2×330 MVAR, 765 kV bus reactor, and a 1×125 MVAR, 420 kV bus reactor along with other associated works.
The handover was formalized by senior officials from RECPDCL and PGCIL, marking a significant step forward in strengthening the transmission network in the region.
RECPDCL, known for its consultancy and project implementation services, has been instrumental in developing power projects across India.
It has also played a key role in transmission projects in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and other states.
REC Limited, a Maharatna company, provides financing for various power infrastructure projects, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
It also supports emerging technologies such as electric vehicles and battery storage.
With a loan portfolio of Rs 5.30 lakh crore as of June 2024, REC Limited remains a strategic player in India’s power sector, facilitating the government’s flagship programs such as Saubhagya and RDSS.
