Red Cross organizes health checkup camp

JAMMU, Feb 5: Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region organized a free health screening cum eye check-up camp in association with Model Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jammu at Govt Middle School, Amb, Tehsil Bhalwal, here today.
Total 330 patients were examined by Eye/Medical team of Doctors while 70 children were dewormed, 10 Cataract patients were identified and some of the children were immunized too. The camp included free medical consultation, nutrition advice, BP measurement, Eye check-up, Immunization etc. The team of professionals included Dr Shamim Akhter, Medical Officer, Red Cross Dispensary, Jammu and Dr Payal Gupta, Ophthalmologist, assisted by Kanchan Devi, Sup Pharmacist, Tripta Devi, LHV along with Kuldeep Bhat, Sr Ophthalmology Technician, assisted by Sureshta, NO Red Cross Diagnostic Centre, Jammu.
Maj General (Retd) S K Sharma, Principal, MIET College, who has adopted the area including the school, facilitated for every arrangement. Dinesh Gupta, Hony Secretary Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region, briefed about the number of welfare schemes of the Government.
