Red Cross organizes medical, blood donation camp

JAMMU, Nov 8: Indian Red Cross Society, (IRCS) region Jammu organized a medical checkup camp at Bahu Fort, Jammu  in collaboration with Social Civil Society (SCS) for Peace and Legal Awareness, Jammu today.
During the camp about 250 patients of different ailments  were examined by a team of doctors comprising of Dr Aniece Choudhary, ENT Specialist (Former Principal, GMC, Jammu) Dr Madan Gandotra, Ortho specialist, Health Department and  Dr Kavita Nijhon, Medical Officer, Red Cross dispensary who were assisted by  Anil Kumar, Sup. Ophthalmic Asstt,  Sohan Lal, Pharmacist and    Sangita Devi, FMPHW. Free medicines were also provided to the poor patients.
Besides this, Indian Red Cross Society, Region Jammu also organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Blood Transfusion Department, GMC, Jammu and Hotel Jammu Ashok. About 10 volunteers/staff members of the hotel donated blood voluntarily.
RC Puri, Hony Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, region Jammu and Dr Vijay Sawhney, HoD Blood Transfusion Department, GMC, Jammu were present on the occasion.
The General Manager of Hotel Jammu Ashok, Neerav Sharma was personally instrumental in organizing the said camp.
Prominent among those who were present in the medical checkup camp included Sita Ram Sharma, Executive Committee Member of IRCS, Jammu Region and  H R Bali, president, Social Civil Society for Peace and Legal Awareness Jammu.
