JAMMU, Dec 15: Indian  Red Cross Society, Jammu Region,  in  collaboration with  Rashatriya Rifles and  Blood Transfusion Department, Government  Medical College, Jammu,   organised a Blood Donation Camp at Talwara   Reasi District.
Large number of civilian population of the area also participated in the Camp. Jawans of  Rashatriya Rifles voluntarily donated more than 68 units of blood on the occasion under the supervision of O C Rashatriya Rifles. The team of Blood Transfusion Department Government Medical College was headed by Dr Lubna.
Honorary Secretary of Red Cross, R C Puri, while speaking on the occasion  explained in detail the need and importance of Blood donation, its periodicity, effects/benefits on the health of the donor and above all the noble cause of saving precious  human lives.
He appreciated the role of  Rashatriya Rifles   in   reaching out  the  poor  and needy people  of the area  in  mitigating their sufferings  and  stressed the need for organizing  such camps in future also.
He   assured   all possible help from Indian Red Cross Society  for organizing  Blood Donation  Camps  in  far off places in near future also.
