JAMMU, July 5: Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G Krishna Reddy who is also election incharge of J&K BJP today urged his party cadre in the UT to fully gear up for the Assembly elections in the UT which will be held any time in near future.
Addressing BJP office bearers meeting here this evening which preceded tomorrow’s extended J&K Executive meeting in which party national president and Union Health Minister J P Nadda will also participate, Reddy said entire nation is emotionally linked to Jammu and Kashmir and annulling of Article 370 was the greatest achievement of Narendra Modi Government.
“During last 75 years our manifesto in elections was abrogation of Article 370 for which BJP right from days of Jana Sangh struggled but now our poll manifesto should be that we annulled controversial Article 370 and achievements made by BJP Government in the UT of J&K since then,’’ Reddy said.
He said entire nation is proud of party’s J&K cadre who struggled a lot during last 75 years for total merger of the erstwhile State with Indian Union. “We hope with same zeal and strength you will jump the electioneering in the UT and ensure party’s victory in coming Assembly poll,’’ he added.
Reddy urged the party cadre to go to every nook and corner of J&K and work hard to ensure that BJP emerges triumphant in the coming Assembly poll.
He while giving full credit to Narendra Modi Government for changing entire narrative in J&K said in nineties the then BJP president, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi had to visit Lal Chowk, Srinagar to unfurl the National Flag and nowadays thousands of people take tricolour in their hands in Kashmir valley. This shows the greatest change in UT situation and credit for this goes to Modi Government, he added.
