BJP AEMC to launch mass contact prog

JAMMU, Aug 4: Preparing for forthcoming Assembly elections and seek views from all sections of society before formation of party’s Assembly poll manifesto, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch a massive public outreach programme in entire UT of J&K.
This was decided in the party’s Assembly Election Manifesto Committee (AEMC) which among others was attended by Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy who is also party’s Incharge for elections in J&K UT.

Reddy, who is presently camping in Jammu to participate in various party’s ongoing programmes while addressing the meeting has urged the party men to fully concentrate on coming Assembly elections which are likely to be held within three to four months.
According to party sources, the Minister while dispelling all the speculations that Assembly elections will be further delayed said the poll notification is likely to be issued within 15 to 20 days and elections will be held within three to four months. He urged the party leaders to gear up for the same by intensifying their activities in length and breadth of the UT.

Reddy said that BJP is in election mood and party men should fully concentrate and focus on elections to ensure the victory at hustings. “Don’t be under any misconception that Assembly elections will be delayed in the UT and hence you have to gear up fully for the same’’, sources said while quoting the Union Minister.
Sources said the meeting dwelt at length how the party’s poll manifesto will have much public acceptance and in this regard it will hold a mass contact programme in the UT by having consultations with cross-section of opinion makers, trade bodies, employees representatives, farmers, industries, manufacturers and social organisations, representatives of all communities to ascertain their views and to frame a poll manifesto accordingly which will have much public acceptance.
Sources said that meeting made it clear that BJP is a party for the people, of the people and by the people and it will set this narrative all over the UT at district, block, Mandal and booth level.
The party has constituted district teams in this regard all over the UT who have been tasked to consult the people in the respective districts, sources said, adding the mass contact will be held in every district.
A party handout later said that Assembly Election Manifesto Committee (AEMC) held a high level meeting at party Headquarters here today to devise the strategy to be adopted for preparation of poll manifesto. The meeting was addressed by Union Minister and incharge elections J&K, G Kishan Reddy.
Ravinder Raina, president, J&K BJP chaired the meeting, which was attended by Manifesto Committee Chairman Dr. Nirmal Singh, and Committee members, BJP national secretary, Dr. Narinder Singh, J&K BJP general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul, J&K BJP general secretaries Sunil Sharma, Vibodh Gupta and Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, BJP National Executive Member (NEM), Priya Sethi, chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi, spokesperson RS Pathania, senior leader Devender Singh Rana and Dr. Rafiq Wani, BJP co Incharge Kashmir besides other members of committee are J&K BJP vice-president Sham Lal Sharma, Dr Darakshn Andrabi and Dr Shehnaz Ganai.
While addressing the meeting, Kishan Reddy emphasized on the good governance motive of the Narendra Modi Government. He said that BJP believes in the participation of common masses in its policy making and hence on the lines of Parliament elections, BJP Jammu & Kashmir will design its Assembly Election Manifesto in accordance with the wishes of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He insisted that the senior party leaders and especially the members of the Assembly Election Manifesto Committee will do extensive public outreach with involvement of all sections of society to collect the important points to be included in the manifesto.
Ravinder Raina, on the occasion announced that the party has divided the region into the seven areas namely Jammu, Rajouri-Poonch, Doda-Ramban-Kishtwar, Udhampur-Reasi, Samba-Kathua, Kashmir and Kashmir Displaced. He said that the teams will also be formed on the district basis to have more outreach within the society and the whole process will be completed up to August 15. He said that the roadmap of the BJP will be set up by this exercise thus fulfilling the party’s mission of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the party leaders will meet with the prominent people from all the sections of the society like youth, women, economists, farmers etc, representatives of various communities like refuges, displaced, SCs, STs, OBCs, Paharis, employees etc, and all the other sections.
